Dacromet was first born in the late 1950s. In the cold winter of North America and Northern Europe, the thick ice on the road seriously hindered the driving of motor vehicles, and people used the method of salt on the ground to reduce the freezing point temperature to alleviate the road smooth problem, but the chloride ions in the sodium chloride immediately eroded the steel matrix, and the transportation vehicles were seriously damaged and severe problems appeared. American scientist Mike Martin developed a highly dispersed water-soluble coating based on metal zinc sheet with aluminum sheet, chromic acid and deionized water as solvent. The coating sticks to the metal matrix and is coated and baked through a fully closed cycle to form a thin coating. The dacromet coating successfully resist the erosion of chloride ions, and the anti-corrosion technology has entered a new stage. It innovates the defect of short anti-corrosion life of the traditional process.
